These shots were taken on our visit during the Scottish Branchlines Gala a few months ago and were taken out of the window of our train from Pickering as we approached Goathland. View the full post

Three shots from the North Yorkshire Moors Railway’s Scottish Branchlines Gala held a couple of moths ago. all the images are of ex.LNER 0-8-0 Class Q6 steam engine 63395 at Grosmont station. The photos have been converted to black and white, slightly toned, two showing a the engine at the head of a rake of LNER Teak coaches and the third is of it running through the station light engine. Some shots of BR Class 4T locomotive 80126 (in fact it’s 80072, re-numbered for the Gala) heading for and under the coaling plant at Grosmont on the NYMR earlier today. The engine has been re-numbered to mkeep it “in character” for the Scottish Branchlines Gala being held this weekend and next. View the full post
