Easter Monday is when the annual World Coal Carrying Championships take place in Gawthorpe, West Yorkshire. There are several races, men, women, veterans and juniors, all watched, usually, by several hundred, if not more, people.
In between the races the local Brass Band, Gawthorpe Brass ’85 are there to entertain the crowd and the photos today are shots of the conductor of the band in action with his baton, two black and white portraits and one colour.
