Some more butterflies from yesterday. Today I’m posting three photographs of fresh, newly emerged (I think) Commas. These are the first ones I’ve spotted for a few weeks and I’m assuming they’re recently emerged as their good condition would seem to indicate that they have not over wintered.
One from a few days ago. This solitary Comma is the only one I’ve seen and managed to photograph this year, so far. The shot was taken as the butterfly was “resting2 on our garden path, taking the relative warmth from the flags.
Commas settled on some strange perches, taking the Sun’s warmth earlier this afternoon, The first is a clothes peg, the second a Polypropylene aggregate bag and the third a Polyetylene sand bag.
