Images from the Welsh Autumn Steam Gala on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway yesterday. The title, “Ghost Engine”, refers to the fact that the Black 5 engine 44771 in the photographs was scrapped some fifty years ago. The Black 5 with the 44771 number plate is in fact one of the NYMR’s engines, 45428 or more probably 44806, renumbered for the gala in keeping with the welsh theme. View the full post

4F 43924 today at the first day of the 2016 Winter Steam Gala on the Keighley and Worth Valley Railway, so that’s today’s photos taken care of. I’ve posted three Black & White shots of one of the stalwarts of the railway, ex.LMS 4F standard goods engine 43924.
