Images from the Welsh Autumn Steam Gala on the North Yorkshire Moors Railway yesterday. The title, “Ghost Engine”, refers to the fact that the Black 5 engine 44771 in the photographs was scrapped some fifty years ago. The Black 5 with the 44771 number plate is in fact one of the NYMR’s engines, 45428 or more probably 44806, renumbered for the gala in keeping with the welsh theme.
