The first sightings, yesterday, of Large Skippers in 2016. The warm(ish) weather seems to have brought them out in large numbers, mainly on Brambles. There were a few Speckled Woods about and the odd Meadow Brown so hopefully if we get some more warm dry weather there’ll be a lot more to photograph. View the full post
Prowling polar Bears. Having just been fed three of the four Polar Bears at the YWP were prowling round their enclosure individually without much contact with one another. View the full post

These shots of Black-headed Gulls were taken yesterday at the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. The gulls were in one of the Polar Bear enclosures and were, along with some Jackdaws scavenging on the meat that had been left for the Bears. They didn’t hang around when any of the bears got anywhere near them. View the full post
