Some shots from The Great Gathering, a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of Mallard’s World Speed Record for a Steam Engine.
The event has been marked by gathering together all six surviving locomotive of the A4 class of Pacific locomotives, including the record holder Mallard, at the National Railway Museum in York.
I’ve uploaded seven photos, one of each of the engines plus a shot of the commemorative plaque fixed to the record breaker Mallard.
