Following on from yesterday’s offering, I have just one shot of the Duchess of Sutherland on the return journey of The Scarborough Flyer.
The engine doesn’t appear to be doing much of the work, leaving it to the Class 47 diesel behind the engine. The steam specials all seem to have a diesel loco with them at the moment as Network Rail are apparently worried about an increased fire risk after the prolonged hot dry weather we’ve been having.
